I actually spoke to the person running the contest and completely agree with you! I told her if she was interested in any of my photos she can go to my website and purchase them. There is another contest run by IAFF that just came out that is no different. This is why the print and tv medium has changed so much in recent years because people just give their pics away.

Craig,

I think you are 100% correct. A publication of that stature should be ashamed of what they are asking from photographers. I think as photographers we need to be compensated for our work.

It is really REFRESHING to hear a fellow service member finally mentions "respect for the fire service" in this clip. Far too often, we are getting away from whats still important and core values.

MM- Thanks for saying something that needed to be said.

Another GREAT episode Craig! Ever since I watched the first episode of First In, I've had great admiration and support for Marcel and how far he's come within the Compton Fire Dept. Thanks for having him on the Podcast and looking forward to the next interview with him!

It makes no sense that Facebook would risk messing up a good thing by edging in on people's intellectual property. They had people's trust and then they go and risk losing it; not smart.

Interesting. Thankfully I have just posted a couple of snaps so far. Photo sharing sites concern me me more right now. One of the problems I have is understanding long ToS written in legalese spread out over hundreds of pages. Too much. Thankfully blogs like your sum it up nicely: FB=crap
