In the early afternoon of July 23rd, 2010 a brush fire erupted along the northbound I-5 freeway just north of Los Angeles in the Newhall Pass.  First-in units reported smoke showing from five miles out and requested a second alarm response as afternoon traffic passed dangerously close to the flames.  LAFD, LACoFD and CalFire personnel were able to hold the fire to approximately 20 acres and save a nearby housing development.  Click on the image below to view the entire gallery.
