De La Hoya vs. Mayorga

Oscar De La Hoya and Ricardo Mayorga battled for the
World Super Welterweight Championship on May 6, 2006 at the
MGM Grand Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada.
De La Hoya emerged victorious with a TKO late in the 6th round
after overpowering a stunned Mayorga.  De La Hoya will retire after his next fight,
which is scheduled for September.

A first round knock-down by De La Hoya energized the sell-out crowd and had Oscar smelling blood.
